What is the Second Chance Program?
The purpose of the 2nd Chance Program is to equip individuals with the tools needed to be successful regardless of the disadvantages, disabilities and dysfunctions in their lives. The approach that we take enables us to go into each person’s situation and work it from the inside out. Our current services are designed to:
- Strengthen character
- Identify disabilities and create solutions to life issues
- Enhance abilities for the work market
- Encourage achievement in education
- Develop self-esteem through mentoring
- Provide resources and referrals to equip each person for success
Although the 2nd Chance program provides an opportunity for individuals to turn their lives around, each person must have a passionate drive for change to be successful.
What services are offered?
Some of our current and proposed services are as follows:
- Housing Program
- Employment Program
- Individual and group Mentoring
- Referrals for Counseling
- Referral for GED preparation
- Basic computer training
- Group meetings
- Relationship Building for single mothers and fathers
- Jail Mentoring
- Family Restoration
- Second Chance Transitional Housing (In development)
- Referrals to other agencies as needed.
Who can use the services?
Anyone in need of a change can use our services!
This program was developed for individuals who are in need of assistance due to poor decision making habits, stressful life changes, incarceration, bad relationships, emotional problems, disabilities, etc. We serve a broad majority of the community in a time when employment is at an all time low, crime is at an all time high, and change is crucial to be successful in the community in which we live.
